Italian Handpainted Soup Tureen

An Italian handpainted soup tureen. The oval ceramic dish features a notch in the rim to hold a ladle, two scrolled handles, and a narrow oval foot on a rectangular pedestal. The tureen has been painted deep aqua with a central scalloped white medallion on either side both featuring imagery of a crest with a lion-like creature in the center, vertical leaf-like bands fill the space outside of the medallions, and a white band with a leaf-like design encircles the foot.
