An aquatint etching by James Hunter titled A View on the Road at Strupermador. The superbly executed aquatint from the series Picturesque Scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore by James Hunter. The print was first published in A Brief History of Ancient and Modern India by Francis William Blagdon in 1804. The print was sold and published June 4, 1804, by Edward Orme, His Majesty’s Printseller on New Bond Street, London. The print depicts a deftly rendered scene in British imperial India and residents standing by the road. The work is matted and presented under glass in a gold frame.
