Robert Fabe Original Tempera Painting "Late for School"

An original tempera on paper painting by well-listed and renowned Cincinnati, Ohio artist Robert Fabe (1917-2004), titled Late for School. The painting is typical of Fabe’s muted, lonely genre street scenes in the hills of Cincinnati, depicting four anonymous children running through an empty street lined with Italianette architecture, shadows falling all around them. The painting is signed in black to the lower right. It is presented behind complementing taupe double-mat, under glass in a beveled wood frame with a brown stained finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso, as well as a label that identifies artist, title and media.
