George M. Hathaway Lighthouse Landscape Oil on Board Painting
Item Details
An original oil painting on board depicting a seascape with sailboats by well-listed and highly regarded marine painter, George M. Hathaway (1852 – 1903). The painting features sailboats to the left of the composition and a large rocky outcropping with a large white compound of buildings including a lighthouse overlooking the scene. It is signed in the lower right corner. The artwork is held in an ornate gold tone wood frame. The remainder of a label affixed to the back reads ‘Porth…’ and may indicate the name of the lighthouse, possibly Porth Eilian.
