F.J. Girardin Early 20th Century Oil Painting

An original oil painting by Impressionist artist, Francois Joseph Girardin (American, 1856 – 1945). This landscape boasts of a colorful fall scene by a river. Signed to the lower left corner. Presented in a gold toned frame with decorative appliqué.

Girardin studied under famous Cincinnati artist Frank Duveneck at the Cincinnati Art Academy. Girardin was also a member of the early Cincinnati Reds Baseball team. Please see the link provided for more information on Frank Girardin.
