An original oil painting on canvas, a portrait of the artist’s mother, rendered by Caroline Ward (Ohio, 1860 – 1927). Caroline Ward was a teacher at the Cincinnati Art Academy and many of her paintings are housed in the Cincinnati Art Museum. This portrait is of her mother Eliza Wright Lord, wife of Henry C. Lord, President of the Indianapolis-Cincinnati Railroad. Signed and dated to the lower left corner. The portrait is presented in a gilt wood frame with floral and foliate details.
