Charles Meurer 19th Century Barnyard Scene Oil Painting

An original oil painting on canvas by famed Cincinnati artist, Charles Alfred Meurer (1865 – 1955). This late 19th – early 20th century piece depicts a barnyard scene of sheep and chickens. Signed to the lower left corner. Minor restoration has been completed. This painting is framed in an era appropriate, gold gilt frame with decorative carvings.

Germany born, Meurer settled in Terrace Park, OH founding the trompe l’oeil style in America. Many of his works depict barnyard scenes. He also created landscapes and hunting scenes.

-Areas of restoration present. Any wear present is consistent with age and normal display. Please inspect photos carefully for condition.
