Salvador Dalí Original LE Mixed Media Print "Les Caprices Pincés Princiers"

An original signed limited edition mixed media print on Rives BFK printmaking paper by prolific Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989). This print is from the artist’s series of 12 images titled Les diners de Gala. The top of this print is an offset lithograph of an illustration by Dalí titled Les caprices pincés princiers, and a small drypoint etching printed in the lower margin is titled La cuilère aux béquilles; this small etching was printed in the lower margin of each official copy of this print. Each image in the series depicted ‘ornate edible creations’ printed in neutral colors; the lower print depicts a priest walking beneath a massive spoon resting on crutches. The print is signed in pencil by Dalí to the lower right and is numbered 147/395 in pencil to the lower right. The print is also signed in pencil by Frans Huta of the Salvador Dalí Archives Ltd. and dated ‘4 August 2006’ in pencil to the verso; a hole is cut in the print’s backing to reveal this. The print is matted in white linen and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with deep mahogany tone finish. Included in the Catalogue Raisonné, “The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali” by Albert Field, catalogue number Field 77-5 A on page 110.
