A sophisticated hand-knotted Pakistani wool area rug. It features a soft wool pile with an ornate and vibrant all over floral motif in the marquis-shaped central pendant medallion, having a field of ivory. The pallette is a variety of flowers in shades of deep green with salmon, peach, deep ruby and garnet reds, taupe, pale blue and mocha. The central lozenge has a field of black which contrasts with the central medallion. The inverted spandrels each have a large palmette in green and blue tones, accented with a colorway in shades of pink and red. A beautiful compound border features a principal border in ivory, with a palette of garnet, ruby, salmon, and shades of rich green. The carnation guard borders have complementary colors on a field of moss green. The rug is banded in black and has a thick warp fringe to the ends. It is tagged to the reverse, ‘100% Wool Pile, Product of Pakistan.’
