A Karastan Mahira Royal Isfahan area rug. The rug has a muted tone, having been sunbleached at the time of manufacture. The rug is machine-made in pale mint green, saffron, fuchsia, white, tangerine and shades of blue. It has an overall lattice of large palmettes surrounding a central medallion, with delicate floral and foliate motifs throughout the interstitial space. It has a compound borer in complementary colors and a carnation guard border. It has a sewn, applied fringe to either end and is tagged to the reverse.
