A beautiful seascape Plein air painting by artist Paul Dougherty (1877-1947) who is regarded as one of America’s most important marine painters. Not only have his works been exhibited in numerous shows, he has won many awards and even won a Gold Medal at the 1915 San Francisco world’s fair, the event which launched the turning point for California Art. It is signed to the lower right corner and presented in a wooden frame.
