An orginal mixed media piece titled ‘Skwinta’ by Otis Jones. Otis Jones (b.1946) is a Dallas-based artist whose minimalist mixed media works utilizes simple geometric forms and composition. In the artist’s own words “I’m interested in objects, patina, wear, and age. […] Each piece takes on its own geology’. This earlier work from 1976 is a blackened purple rectangle with a worn and textural finish. Two right angle forms sit at the middle and right bottom of the canvas. The edges are trimmed in a taupe colored masking tape like material .
