A hand-knotted Pakistani Qashqai area rug. The rug features a large notched lozenge with three hexagonal pole medallions with rectilinear hooked motifs in deep ruby red and rich indigo with burnt orange and dark garnet colors. The surrounding field is populated with numerous symbols, figural animals and birds and floral motifs. It has crenellated guard borders and a principal carnation border on an ivory field. It has a natural, undyed warp fringe to either end. Tagged to reverse.
