Pair of Margaret Wenstrup Miniature Drawings

Item Details

A pair of miniature ink and crayon drawings by listed Cincinnati artist Margaret Newland Wenstrup (1930-2008). The prints each depict twisting tubes filled with thin parallel lines of black loops. The tubes are set against a vivid yellow background. One of the drawings has a partial signature from the artist to its lower edge, and the works come directly from the artist’s estate. The drawings are presented without framing and matting. Wenstrup graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, lived and worked in New Richmond, Ohio, and is known as a pioneer of Mid-Century Modernism. She is recognized for her bold use of color and large scale work.
