Hand Painted Nippon Vase with White Woodland Roses

An early hand painted Nippon porcelain vase featuring a bevy of pale creamy white woodland roses over a grey background and hand decorated with gold painted embellishments. The vase features a tapered shape at the base and top with an angular pair of handles flush with the top of the vase. Hallmarked to the base in blue ink with a wreath and M traditionally a mark of the Morimura brothers and a predecessor of Noritake. Circa 1940.

Condition

- gold gilt worn from the handles, with a flaked chip to the front left handle.
