An original intaglio etching by Donald Sexauer titled Bridge of Adolescence. The intaglio etching in black and white depicts multiple figures glaring at a young woman as she holds a doll. The plate is number 4 of 25 and titled, signed and dated 1966 by the artist in graphite. Donald Sexauer (American, 1932 – 2003) was a printmaker and draughtsman who taught in the art department of Eastern Carolina University. Starting in the mid-1960s he exhibited at major shows across the United States. Examples of his work are held in the permanent collections of the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC; Museum of Fine Art, Montgomery, AL; Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR; University of Wyoming Art Museum, and the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC.
