A hand-knotted Kashmir silk rug. This beautiful rug has a pale tone in sand, ecru, taupe, and ivory, with ruby red, salmon, garnet and black detailing in the intricate floral and foliate design. It has 730 KPSI with crisp, clear detailing on both sides. It features a central lozenge with a mirrored cartouche to the center, surrounded by open flower blossoms, lotus blossoms and leaf patterns. The main border has a deep indigo blue-black field with ornate split leaf and floral patterns twining throughout, and is flanked by a compound, serrated border, encircled by a cloud band-style border with tone-on-tone palmettes. The outermost border is salmon-toned with a crenellated pattern. It has a long, hand-tied fringe to either end, and is unmarked.
