Item Details

An original mid-20th century oil on canvas European street scene, signed ‘Devereaux’ in brown paint to the lower right. The bustling alla prima painting is completed in bright splatters of colors applied with heavy impasto. The image gradually fades away into a wide blank white border. The painting is presented in a carved wooden frame with gold tone finish and off-white linen lining. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- light accretion to frame’s linen lining. Craquelure across painting that has begun to form very small paint chips.
