A vintage reproduction of Joseph Whiting Stock’s Mary Jane Smith. The image depicts a toddler in pink dress holding a doll in her left hand and pointing at a cat sitting on the floor with her right. Originally painted in 1838 as an oil on canvas, this Ethan Allen reproduction is in a wooden frame.

J.W. Stock (1815-1855) was an American painter, who took up the work after becoming paraplegic at age 11; he was known primarily for his landscapes, portraits, and miniatures, accepting commissions around New England until dying of tuberculosis.
