An antique framed chromolithograph of a caricature of Max Beerbohm signed in the plate by ‘Sic’, British artist Walter Sickert. The artist’s name is printed in the lower left corner. It is No.696, from the Men of the Day series published by Vanity Fair on December 9, 1897. Sir Henry Maximilian ‘Max’ Beerbohm (24 August 1872 – 20 May 1956) was an English essayist, parodist, and caricaturist. He published one novel and also made radio broadcasts and was well known as a wit and a dandy.
