An original oil on canvas painting titled Portrait of a Sketch Class by listed artist Scamanda Gerard (1908 – ), made in 1947. The abstract painting depicts a group of artists drawing a nude model in a studio. The painting features visible brush strokes and a thick application of paint. The piece is signed by the artist in the lower left. Per consigner the artist Hans Hoffman is pictured in the piece, shown with a halo over his head. The work is presented in a gold tone frame. There is information on the back about its exhibition in Paintings of the Year in 1947, in New York City.
