An original vintage oil on canvas landscape painting by listed 20th century Japanese artist Shin’Ichiro Adachi, titled Kashimayari (Place), circa 1940. The serene painting depicts a stunning mountain landscape modeled after the Japanese ski resort Kashimayari. Snow-topped peaks rise above a bright pine forest. The painting was created with heavy impasto, giving the piece a highly-textured surface that beautifully echoes the mountain’s rocky surface. The artist’s chop mark is painted to the lower left, and the painting is signed and titled in Japanese to the verso. The piece is presented in a wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire attached to the verso.
