David Salle Original LE Aquatint "Grandiose Synonym for Church VII"

Item Details

A large original signed limited edition aquatint in colors on fine printmaking paper with deckled edges by American Neo-Expressionist artist David Salle (1952 -), titled Grandiose Synonym for Church VII. This piece is from a collection of works by the artist featuring this title; they depict overlapping organic figures and human forms printed in simple colors that seem to wash across the page. This particular image depicts an abstracted swirl of deep blue organic forms and spirals of orange linework. The print is signed and dated 1985 in pencil to the lower right and is numbered 14/17 in pencil to the lower left. It is float-mounted on white and is presented behind acrylic glass in a modern pale wooden frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging. One of Salle’s pieces from this series is currently housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and Salle’s work has been widely exhibited around the world.
