The Little Leather Library Miniature Set of Classic Literature

Item Details

The Little Leather Library miniature set of classic literature. The Little Leather Library Corporation was an American publishing company founded in New York in the early 20th century. The books were distributed as premiums and offered for sale through department stores, bookstores, drugstores, and by mail for as little as ten cents per copy. The Little Leather Library titles included classic poetry and prose in the public domain and feature works by Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Oscar Wilde, Robert Louis Stevenson, Longfellow, Edward Everett Hale, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and many others. The title page does not indicate a year, but the synthetic covers indicate these are probably dated after WWI when leather prices rose as the demand for it increased. These copies feature green covers with embossed titles and a floral border.
