Hand-Knotted Isfahan Persian Rug

A hand-knotted Isfahan Persian area rug. This wool area rug features hand-knotted construction and hand-knotted fringe. The pattern is blue, red and cream, and the motif consists of palmettes and arabesques. Isfahan was the capital of the Persia during the Safavids dynasty (1502-1736).

Condition

There is wear to the edges of the rug from use. The rug appears to have been repaired at some point but is coming unravelled at the edge.

Taken of the rug rolled for shipping. Laying flat the rug measures 7′ × 10′.
