A hand-knotted Isfahan Persian area rug. This wool area rug features hand-knotted construction and hand-knotted fringe. The pattern is blue, red and cream, and the motif consists of palmettes and arabesques. Isfahan was the capital of the Persia during the Safavids dynasty (1502-1736).

Condition
There is wear to the edges of the rug from use. The rug appears to have been repaired at some point but is coming unravelled at the edge.
