Original Signed Ian Fleming "Creation" Etching Series, 1977

An important full collection of fifteen signed etchings by listed Scottish artist and engraver Ian Fleming. Fleming (Scottish,1906 – 1994) was a noted engraver and printmaker and was Director of Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland from 1954 – 1971. His work is featured in the National Galleries of Scotland and his work is exhibited worldwide. This series of fifteen prints is Fleming’s interpretation of the creation story told in the Bible. Each print is rendered in a different color, with detailed, intricate abstract images of ‘the hand of God’ creating the world. Each print has a majuscule quotation from the Bible at the bottom, below and over the image, creating a dimensional appearance. Each print is signed in pencil to the lower left with ‘Creation’ and the print number in the series, ‘1401’, ‘1402’ etc. to ‘14015.’ Each is signed in pencil to the lower right with ‘Ian Fleming 77.’ Presented unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.

Condition

- to fair. The paper shows some slight bend marks and some slightly rolled corners.
