Zamy Steynovitz Mixed Media Printer's Proof "The Artist's Palette"

An original signed limited edition mixed media print, utilizing both serigraph and hand-pulled lithograph methods, by Zamy Steynovitz (1951-2000). Titled The Artist’s Palette, the print depicts colorful composition of a man and a woman holding an artist’s palette while a soaring angel playing a violin hovers nearby. The print is signed and numbered ‘PP 4/55’ in pencil in the lower margin; PP stands for ’Printer’s Proof.’ The print is double0matted in white and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with black and faux burled wood finishes. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging. An Israeli-born Polish artist, Steynovitz studied art at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, as well as the Art School in Tel Aviv. Steynovitz’s subject matter for his art was greatly influenced by his Eastern European and Jewish background, with his colorful abstract style being greatly influenced by the modern artist Marc Chagall.
