Vintage 1979 Hand-Crafted Boomerangs by John Atkinson

A grouping of four hand-crafted wooden boomerangs from Southeast Australia by John Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson has two boomerang examples in the archives of the National Museum Australia. Each boomerange features a carved or branded image of a kangaroo to the bend. Two boomerangs feature incised designs to both ends, while two feature orange or brown painted ends. The boomerangs are signed by Mr. Atkinson to the underside in an incised mark, with Rumbalara, Aboriginal, Made 1979.
