DE+FORM Aluminum Panel Sculpture "Deformation"

An original aluminum panel and LED light sculpture created by the DE+FORM team of three architectural designers, Kayla Grosheim, Richie Hardman, and Mohammad Alsalti based out of Cincinnati. The 25 feet long sculpture undulates and turns according to scripted code by freezing a computer generated model expressing fluidity and motion. The form was realized by computing a stress analysis test and creating strips of aluminum with a plasma machine based on the results and riveted together with over 3,000 rivets. The work is also lit from the back with LED lights in alternating colors which reflect off the layers of aluminum below it. Comes with a plug for electrical collection.
