Semi Antique Hand Woven Kashan-Style Area Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique handwoven wool Kashan-style area rug. This striking carpet features an ornate, deep indigo blue central lozenge with a large central medallion, having six smaller medallions within, surrounded by oversized palmettes and flower blossoms. The carpet has overall colors of indigo, teal blue, pale blue, sand beige, burnt orange and ivory. The field is populated with large Shah Abassi palmettes with split leaves and vinework. The carpet has a wide main border in complementary colors in a Rhodian style, flanked by floral guard borders. It has a small kilim skirt and wool warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
