"The Banjo Lesson" Lithograph after Henry Ossawa Tanner

An offset lithograph of The Banjo Lesson (1893) by noted African American artist Henry Ossawa Tanner (1858-1937). It features an African American grandfather teaching his grandson how to play a banjo. The piece is double matted and set in a gold tone wooden frame behind glass. Tanner was the first black artist to achieve international fame during the late 19th century. His work appeared in the 1896 Salon, a yearly gallery of the eminent Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
Condition
Some wear to the frame; glass would benefit from washing
