An original oil on canvas landscape by Maxwell Foster, early 1900s. This painting depicts a shadowy lane through a forested area, with pale patches of light pushing through the trees. It is signed in the lower left corner, and comes in an ornate gold tone frame with lighting.

*Maxwell Foster lived in Louisville, Kentucky was grandniece of composer Stephen Foster. She painted southern landscapes and scenes, and was active in Kentucky and Florida from the 1930s- 1960s.
