William L. Gilbert Arts and Crafts Windmill Mantel Clock

Item Details

An Arts and Crafts oak mantel clock in the form of a windmill by the William L. Gilbert Clock Company. The clock is marked on the back with directions, and is ‘Form A117 Windmill 00’ with an eight day mission strike. The clock body is made of vertical planked wood with applied brass numbers and dials topped with a pair of decorative windmill wooden blades. Below the clock face is an offset lithograph print of a religious figure in a robe with a book and an umbrella, in red, blue and yellow tones against a green ground. The image is signed but the signature is illegible. Included with the clock is a key.
