A silver gelatin photograph from an unnumbered edition of 100 by well-listed and renowned Luxembourgish-American photographer and curator Edward Steichen (1879 – 1973), titled Self Portrait with Photographic Paraphernalia, shot in 1917 but posthumously printed in 1982. As the title suggests, the image depicts a self-portrait of the famed photographer in his studio. He crouches on a shadowy photography set, and silhouetted gear rises behind his form. The photograph is float-mounted on white ground, presented behind glass in a black composite frame. A hanging wire and a label with additional information about the piece are attached to the verso.
