Jeannie Deans Model Ship
Item Details
A large scale model of the Jeannie Deans steamer, wired to illuminate the interior and operate the paddle wheel. The PS Jeanie Deans was built for the London and North Eastern Railway in 193 as a summer cruiser from Craigendoran. She was the first Clyde steamer with a three-crank engine, giving h er an impressive speed of 18.5 knot in trials. As built, she had two small deckhouses, one forward, supporting the open bridge and one aft of the twin funnels, covering the companionway. This accurate model shows every detail of the river cruiser right down to the departure schedule which is displayed on deck. When the boat is illuminated, all the cabin windows glow and the paddle wheel rotates. Truly a delightful reminder of river travel and a charming labor of love. PLEASE NOTE; Due to the fragile nature of the model, we request pick up on site.
Condition
The boat is in great condition, the lighting and paddle wheel is in working order. The rudder at the back needs to be re-glued and a good dusting is in order.
Dimensions
On the display stand the boat measures 15" high x 64" long x 16" wide
