A striking signed, silk Hereke prayer rug. A fine, handwoven rug with a dense and tight knot count in a palette of black, deep indigo, ochre, taupe, cochineal red, olive, grey, salmon, chocolate brown, teal and green. This beautiful rug has a large central medallion with pendants having a detailed and ornate pattern of large palmettes and arabesqued vinework with flower blossoms. It has a geometric ivory and ruby guard border with an ornate main border in complementary colors. It is inscribed in ivory to one end. It has a long, dense fringe to either end and is tagged with a production number.
