An antique 19th-century pastoral oil painting after F. Hulme. Following in the tradition of earlier 18th-century landscape paintings, this small painting showcases an idealized European countryside framed by a series of large magnificent trees with a small pond or stream cutting through the scene. A quaint cottage with a moss covered thatched roof takes up the center of the image and a singular woman can be seen walking towards this structure. It is signed at the bottom ‘F. Hulme’
