A lithographic reproduction print after the original lithograph by well-listed and renowned French lithographer Honoré Daumier (1808-1879), plate 311 from his 1862 series Souvenirs d’Artistes. The print is captioned in French, ‘En v’là un, il pourrait bien être malheureux comme les pierres, que je lui donnerais pas pour un sou d’ouvrage’ to the lower margin. The image depicts a gentleman wearing a top hat pausing for a moment as he takes a drink from a glass at the counter of a bar. Artist signature is printed in plate to the lower left. The print is not framed, float-mounted on white mat.
Condition
- yellowing across the print. A smudge to the upper right margin. Edges and corners of print are worn, as it is not framed.
