Antique Frame and Coal Iron
Item Details
An antique frame and coal iron. The picture frame is gilt over wood and is in poor condition. Please review the pictures. The coal iron dates from the late 1800s and is the precursor to modern irons. Hot coals were put into the iron, and the steam or smoke was vented through the funnel away from the user. It is constructed of cast iron and has a wooden handle.
