Hekman Chest with Finished Back
Item Details
A Hekman mahogany chest with finished back. The top of the piece features a checkerboard of matched burl walnut veneer handsomely finished with an ogee edge. The piece features three drawers, each finished with such fine furniture details as matched burl walnut veneers, cockbeading and dovetailed joinery. Each of the drawers feature a pair of brass batwing bails and pulls. The finished back and the front skirt of the piece both feature a carved seashell like design to the center and the entire piece rests on four cabriole legs with pad feet. A drawer reveals a metal tag for Hekman, Lexington, N.C. and Grand Rapids, MI USA.
Condition
Wear is commensurate with use. Tarnish noted on the pulls. The piece has a purposefully slightly distressed look.
