Cherry Hepplewhite Shield Back Chairs

Item Details

A set of four Hepplewhite shield back chairs. The set appears to have been constructed out of cherry with influences that suggest the pieces were manufactured around the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. The splat in the center is pierced with a reed pattern with the seats upholstered in a wine red floral motif. The legs are tapered and have stretchers for additional support.

Condition

Some marks to the legs with one chair showing repair work to the stile. Wear consistent with age and use.
