Oak Duncan Phyfe Lyre Sewing Chest Circa 1890's

A Duncan-Phyfe oak sewing chest circa 1890’s. The top has soft rounded corners with an ogee edge. The piece lowers to two lower drawers with brass pulls with a floral design. The piece lowers to a lyre design with decorative spindles accented by a singular stretcher with decorative lower fretwork in a scalloped design. The legs are short in stature with a molded cabriole design. The piece rests on casters. The sewing chest has a rich oak finish and is unmarked by the manufacturer.

Condition

There is a split in the top, wear consistent with age and use.
