Three Framed 19th Century Samplers

A collection of three 19th century embroidery samplers set behind glass in matching goldtone frames with red stepped interior border. The largest sampler has five styles of embroidered alphabet letters is initialed and dated 1878 with a variety of charming shapes mostly to the bottom but also sprinkled throughout. The middle-sized sampler exhibits three styles of letters and is signed, dated 1903, and lists the address of the maker, presumably the location of where it was made. The third and smallest sampler is not signed or dated and displays a single style alphabet with numbers 0-9 across the bottom and climbing vine border.

Condition

- wear commensurate with age.
- damage to largest frame, and sampler is slipping.
