An Indian hand woven Bidjar area rug. The carpet has a palette of indigo, pale blue, ivory, ruby and golden ochre, with a lattice-work pattern of herati and smaller blossoms over the field, within a long central lozenge. It has a turtle border in complementary tones with smaller compound borders. It has a long cotton warp fringe to either end. Marked to the reverse, ‘All New Pure Wool, Genuine Agrippa, Hand Woven in India.’
