An original watercolor portrait on paper by 20th century Floridian artist and Naval veteran Vining Sherman, titled The Old Shepherd. The painting depicts an elderly shepherd with a long white beard with a bright yellow and blue robe. He holds a shepherd’s crook in one hand and a small lamb in the other. The painting is signed, titled, and labeled ‘Gulmarg, Kashmir, India’ in blue in near the lower margin. The painting is matted in white with a blue French line and is presented in a carved wooden frame with black finish and a hanging wire.
