Vintage, Working 1920s Telephone
Item Details
A vintage, working 1920’s telephone. The telephone is made of black painted metal and brass. The original cloth cord has been fitted with a modern phone jack on the end, and the seller says it works fine. Marked to the back of the brass microphone is ‘Patented Nov. 92’. The phone is also marked with patent dates along the front of the black base. An Art Nouveau motif is on the rotary dial. The earpiece hangs in a brass bracket; the mouthpiece, or microphone, is adjustable up or down via a swivel on the back. Except for a series of patent dates, the telephone is not marked with a brand name.
Condition
Unable to test, however, seller says the phone works fine in a modern telephone jack. Small scuffs consistent with age and normal use; very good condition for its age.
