A beautiful handcrafted model of the Flying Cloud ship contained within a glass vitrine with a wooden base. The model depicts the Flying Cloud, a legendary vessel of the Clipper ship era, designed and built by the master shipbuilder Donald McKay. The Flying Cloud was launched in 1851 in Boston, Massachusetts. The model was built with kiln-dried woods with interior ribs and plank-on frame construction, designed from historic drawings and plans and constructed fully of wood and metal with no plastic parts.
