A Tony Ortega original oil on canvas clown painting. The 1981 abstract painting depicts a number of clowns, in bright colors of red, turquoise, orange, black, blue, green and yellow. It is signed and dated to the lower left corner, ‘T Ortega 12/81’, and is presented in a narrow, black metal frame.

*Tony Ortega (American, born 1958) is a well-listed artist from Colorado, whose work includes painting, etching, drawing and printmaking. Ortega received an MFA in drawing and printmaking from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is currently a professor of printmaking at Regis University, Denver, Colorado. His work is in the collections of The Denver Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum, among others, and has exhibited across the United States and around the world.
