This is a Paul Ashbrook lithograph from his Jerusalem drawings. It is of an man in a fez carrying a container on his back and a cup and teapot in his hands. The title is ‘Jerusalem 1933.’ It is double signed and framed in a gold-toned wood frame with a single neutral mat. A painter, illustrator, and etcher, Paul Ashbrook (1867-1949) was a leading figure in Cincinnati art circles in the early 20th Century. Paul Ashbrook began his career as an illustrator for Charles Klackner in New York. After moving to Cincinnati and studying under Frank Duveneck, Ashbrook established himself as an illustrative printmaker. It is framed and matted in open glass frame. Companion piece to 136 & 137.
