Eight Mahogany Mid-Century Chippendale Style Dining Chairs
Item Details
A set of eight mahogany mid-century Chippendale style pieced ribbon back dining chairs. Includes two arm chairs and six side chairs. Each chair features a series of delicately carved horizontal splats with a top piece featuring a seashell medallion and foliate carvings. There are delicate carvings to the shoulders which descend down the side supports of the back of the chairs. The seats are upholstered in a nubby wool fabric in teal and gold tones. Each chair rests on four square incised legs with a simple h stretcher to the bottom. Each chair is marked with a tag from the Grand Ledge Chair Company, Grand Ledge, Michigan.
Condition
One of the splats of an arm chair has come loose, and one of the splats on a side chair has seen a crack and repair. The upholstery shows a few stains.
